6 Wi-fi Cafes in Siargao for remote work (March 2021)

(March 2021) Planning to hit up 🇵🇭  General Luna, Siargao in the near future and wondering what your remote work situation will be? Here’s a (hopefully) helpful list of open cafes and restaurants where you can work remotely.

Best Wi-fi: Greenhouse Cafe & Restaurant Siargao

• Wi-fi: Excellent! They’re on Smart Broadband.
• Globe/Smart Data: LTE (Excellent)
• Outlets: Limited
• Acoustics: Voice-call friendly since it’s an open area
• Hours: 6:00 am – 11:30 am (double check with the restaurant)
• Meals: Limited to breakfast pa daw until further notice. Pastry, coffee, juice.
• Aircon: No, but well-ventilated
• Seating: Indoor, cushioned chairs
• View: Garden/Street

Best Ambiance: The Spotted Pig

• Wi-fi: Service provider unknown but excellent signal
• Globe/Smart Data: LTE (Excellent)
• Outlets: Unknown
• Acoustics: Possible to do calls if the cafe isn’t too busy.
• Hours: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (double check with the restaurant)
• Meals: Breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner. Coffee.
• Aircon: Yes
• Seating: Indoor/outdoor. Cushioned indoor chairs. Has outdoor seating but no tables there, right before the entrance. Extended outdoor seating with bar table on the side.
• View: Street

Best Beach View: Bravo

• Wi-fi: Complimentary wi-fi for those staying in the hotel. Restaurant guests may need to pay (Unconfirmed).
• Globe/Smart Data: LTE (Excellent)
• Outlets: Didn’t see any
• Acoustics: Always busy, so maybe not a good place to do calls. Unless you can find a quiet spot in the corner areas.
• Hours: Breakfast until late (double check with the restaurant)
• Meals: Spanish/Filipino. Breakfast, lunch, dinner. Shakes, tea, dessert. Alcohol.
• Aircon: No, but well-ventilated
• Seating: Indoor/outdoor. Couch, beach beds.
• View: Beach/Garden

Quietest* Spot: Lunares Cafe

* For lack of a better word LOL. What I mean here is you could really focus while working in this spot.

• Wi-fi: Free. Good. They’re on Globe Broadband. Spotty at times.
• Globe/Smart Data: LTE (Excellent)
• Outlets: Limited
• Acoustics: Good for calls. The cafe plays ambiance music in the background so just make sure you’re on good earphones.
• Hours: 7:30 am – 5:00 pm (double check with the restaurant)
• Meals: Coffee, tea, pastry, dessert
• Aircon: Yes.
• Seating: Indoor/outdoor. Outdoor has a bar setup that overlooks the street but no plugs there.
• View: Street

• Hours: 7:00 am – 4:00 pm (double check with the restaurant)
• Meals: Coffee, tea, pastry, dessert
• Aircon: No, but the front side of the cafe is fully open. Fans inside.
• Seating: Indoor/outdoor. Indoor has a bar setup. Outdoor has some more seating and a couch that overlooks the street but no plugs there.

* Cafe is on the 2nd floor. Restaurant is on the ground. The cafe is where you should go if you need to work.

For those who don’t need wi-fi or are planning to pack their own pocket wi-fi or tethering devices (which I highly suggest that you do), here are 3 more cafes. They didn’t offer wi-fi as of March 2021, but they do have outlets and excellent Globe/Smart LTE reception.

• Meals: Vegetarian/Vegan. Smoothie bowls. Shakes, tea, coffee.
• Aircon: Yes
• Seating: Indoor/outdoor. Indoor has a couch, plenty of tables. Outdoor has some more seating but no plugs there.

Yeah, the Korean cafe chain.

• Acoustics: OK for calls. It’s a big room and accommodate a few. Just make sure you’re on quality earphones.
• Hours: 9:00 am – 7:00 pm (double check with the restaurant)
• Meals: Coffee, shakes, tea, pastry, milk tea.
• Aircon: Yes
• Seating: Indoor/outdoor. Indoor has a couch, plenty of tables. Outdoor has some more seating but no plugs there.

• Acoustics: Not great for calls. It’s an open air veranda facing a busy street.
• Hours: 6:00 am – 7:00 pm (double check with the restaurant)
• Meals: Breakfast. Waffles, pancakes, sandwiches. Coffee, shakes, tea.
• Aircon: No, but well ventilated
• Seating: Indoor. 1st floor has bar-type seating. 2nd floor has cozy floor seating and 2 chairs.
