In which I naturally justify a 30-day drinking binge

UPDATE: It was a success

I see a lot of x days of x projects. You know, where people do and post one thing of something a day for a period of time. It certainly is gratuitous. It opposes the very reason we wake up everyday: to aim to do something of value that helps the world. Fuck all of that for one moment. This November 1st, I’m embarking on a 30-day drinking binge for no other reason than to mark my 30 years of being. I am marking this milestone by offering one drink a day to the world that needs it so badly.

The last time I attempted a similar activity was when I worked out for 7 days straight some years ago. It’s a no-brainer if physical activity is one’s essential recreation. But drinking was my first essential recreation. Facebook photos seem to suggest I haven’t drunk like I’m 25 since I was 25. I trust this wouldn’t obstruct my project.

The challenge of hitting a ridiculous, empty goal is SO inviting that when I asked myself if I would I do it again, the answer came (and as always) naturally.

I will always respond to life with a resounding yes.
